Express Yourself!

Ashlynn has shown quite a bit of creativity lately. She now cares about what she wears; Much to my disappointment as she rejects the outfits I pick out for her, declaring "It has too much green" or "Not that one, Mom!" Sometimes what she puts together is dang funny, such as the outfit above. We were headed to a BBQ, so the "bling" was a little much. I talked her out the outfit by explaining the rule of not mixing patterns.

Ashlynn's drawing/ painting has improved dramatically in the past month, so that a person who looks at it can tell (maybe with a little guidance from Ashlynn) what the picture is showing. Many of her works of art are produced during patch time, so she's working that eye! Ariel sitting on purple coral with Sebastian (the crab) and Flounder (the blue and yellow fish) on the left, with other colorful fish and seaweed around.
Ariel and Her Sister (unfinished): Ariel is swimming up and her sister, in blue, is swimming down. The green and yellow stuff is seaweed. There are a few letters included.
A princess with her left hand touching her face. (Notice the detail in her tiara and necklace and her small earrings!)
Mommy and Daddy in a Hot Air Balloon (unfinished, especially Eric, who is just a head, in marker)
Ariel (again!)
A Halloween Picture (unfinished, in marker): bat (top left), witch (left of middle), many pumpkins and jack-0-lanterns (don't you love the one at the bottom that glows and has spiky hair?), some purple sky, and the letters "H", "C" and "L". (All I helped her with was making that black triangle for the jack-o-lantern's nose.)
I can't wait to see what she makes next!
