Ashlynn had her 6-year-old check-up with the doctor. She was most excited to be weighed at their office and prove that she weighs enough to move up to a booster car seat, instead of the 5 point harness one she's been riding in since she was like 6 months old. The law is they must be 4-years-old AND 4o pounds.
Over a month ago, Ashlynn weighed herself at our house and got a reading of 40 pounds. I said that our scale wasn't super accurate and that we would need to confirm the reading at her check-up.
At the doctor's office she proudly stepped onto the scale and got a reading of 37.6 pounds.
Poor kid.
Ashlynn's growing taller but her weight isn't keeping up with the rate of her height (which is how I grew too). Therefore, her BMI went down. The doctor isn't very concerned but advised us to put Ashlynn back on whole milk (we had moved both kids to 2% a few months ago).
So, she's got about 2 and a half pounds to go to get to that booster seat. The doctor said to bring her with Carter next June when he has his 4 year check-up and maybe she'll be to 40 pounds then.
It's hard to imagine that 4-year-olds weigh 40 pounds but my kid might not hit 40 pounds until she's nearly 7.

Yes, we were so excited when Dillan hit 42 pounds, which he has been holding steady at for over 2 years (how is that possible?)...she will get there! :) hugs, emily
