May 1st was the Spring Spectacular at my school. Ashlynn had a great time being a part of all of the excitement. She was thrilled to have a mermaid painted on her cheek and was terrified and excited to go on her first carnival ride with Angie's daughter, Sydney. Carter had a good time just watching all of the fun.

What happened to May?
How is it June already?!?! Don't get me wrong, I am thrilled that it is almost summer vacation, but I just can't believe how quickly time flies! Can Carter really be turning one at the end of this week?!?! Well, here's a little of what we've been up to this month.

Ashlynn likes to take pictures with my camera. Most of them are a little scary because she often doesn't point the camera at anything in particular before taking a photo, but this time she got it right with a cute picture of Carter.
Carter, man on the move. This is how he's started crawling outside. Apparently it is not so comfortable to drag his bare knees on the concrete or grass.

Look, he's standing on his own (for a few seconds)!
Mother's Day! Carter has so many cute expressions.

We ate lunch on the back patio for Mother's Day lunch. It was a perfect day for eating outside!

Ashlynn bravely held the hornworm caterpillar I brought home from school for the weekend.

My attempt at a Mother's Day photo of the kids... no luck.
Dessert was yummy!
What's that styling product we used in Carter's hair? Oh, it's apple sauce!

Celebrating Uncle Brian's 29th birthday at Shogun.
WOW!
The Vales boys
Happy Birthday, Uncle Brian!
What I see when I come into Carter's room in the morning. So cute!
It was a busy and good month! June, here we come!
