A Lovely Morning with my Boy

Yesterday Carter and I went to the Arboretum.  It was my first visit since the big windstorm at the beginning of December.  Things did look a bit different, but it is still a beautiful place.

We followed the snake path and enjoyed the mosaics.

 Carter found one that looked like a C (finding C's is a favorite hobby of his).

 We found a little hiding place to explore (clearly I was using my point and shoot camera)

 And noticed the cactus garden.

 Near the pond we found the fattest squirrel I've ever seen.  Apparently, a squirrel at the Arboretum pond has plenty of scraps to snack on.

 Carter observed, "That duck has scary eyes."

 He IS handsome, like his dad.

 Yay for nice weather!
