We had a nice Easter that felt like it had a good balance of kid-friendly fun (Easter bunny, egg hunts, and baskets) and the true meaning of Easter (Carter liked to point out quite a bit, "Jesus is alive!").
When everyone was awake (Carter was the last to wake up), the kids checked out their Easter baskets.
After breakfast and getting dressed, we heading to the backyard to find the eggs the Easter bunny had hidden.
Carter was rather annoyed about having to stop hunting for a photo.
That Easter bunny is a tricky guy. We don't know how he was able to hide the eggs in such high places. Guess he's got skills!
Here Ashlynn is showing the pink/red egg that was hidden among the geraniums.
There were just a few minutes to check out the contents of the eggs before heading off to church.
The kids both sang with children's ministries for the second and third services, but I didn't have a good view of either of them, so no in-church photos!
Here's Ashlynn with a boy from choir who is also sporting a short cast for Easter.
And here's Ashlynn with her buddy, Lydia. Those girls are two peas in a pod!
And here are our kids with the Easter cross:
After lunch at home and some major potato side-dishes production, we headed down to my parents' house for an early Easter dinner with both sides of our family and two of my mom's good friends from church. Of course Pippa also came (she got to be with her brother on Easter too).
One of the many benefits of being a kid is being the first served for dinner.
There was another egg hunt in Nana and Papa's backyard.
It was a highly watched and coached event.
Happy Easter everyone!
