The First Week of December 2013

December is here!

You know who is sooo super excited about that?

This kid:
Carter LOVES Christmas and is so happy the long-awaited month of December is finally here.

On December 1st, we did most of our Christmas decorating (with the exception of the tree).
Lights went up on the house.  Both kids got to go up on the roof for the first time.  Ashlynn thought it was pretty exciting (but was still quite cautious).
Carter was super excited about going up on the roof, but was pretty scared when he got up there.
He staying in one place, until his Daddy helped him get down.
On the 2nd, the kids made a Nativity puppet craft.
On the 5th, we went to the Monrovia Christmas Parade.  We met the Lees and enjoyed a pizza dinner and hot drinks before the parade.
The kids had fun dancing, running, and goofing around in the street.
Ashlynn and I then walked to the start of the parade route, so she could walk with her Girl Scouts group.  Here she is with her favorite Daisies: Marisa and MacKenzie.
 Troop shot!
The troop ended up being asked to ride on a Girl Scout flatbed trailer.  Fun!
On Saturday morning we were invited to join the family of Carter's soccer coach at the Peach Cafe for Breakfast with Santa.  Carter was quite delighted by Santa's arrival.
Santa came around to visit with everyone.
 Photo ops!
Santa had real gifts for all the kids.  Our kids were surprised and excited.
When we got home, we decorated our Christmas tree.
Carter made an ornament all by himself.
Getting the angel on the tree was a bit of a challenge (and quite a feat of strength for Eric).
Our tree tonight:
December is off to a great start!
