The kids got their first Christmas gifts on Christmas Eve: a princess tent for Ashlynn and a voice activated Thomas train for Carter (both from the Dunns). Ashlynn loved talking to the train, and Carter got in and out of the tent, over and over again. Ashlynn took her nap in the tent (after quite a lot of playing). They were pretty excited about presents after that preview!

We had an early Christmas Eve dinner at my parents' house with both sides of the family before heading to church for the 6pm family service.

We all attended the family Christmas Eve service at SMCC. The kids went to the front for a few songs and a story. Luckily, Ashlynn's buddy Jenna was there, and they went up together. (Who gave our four year old a song sheet? She hid behind it for most of the songs.)

The pastor told the story and a lady illustrated it as he read.

At the end we all went outside with candles and sang "Silent Night" (my favorite part).

Our annual Christmas Eve service picture (well, except for last year because we didn't make it)

We ate dessert at Eric's dad's house. Ashlynn was wearing her "Nutcracker" outfit so I had her do a few ballet moves in front of the tree.

Christmas morning!

She just is so unwilling to work with me. : ) Can you tell she's annoyed, and I am not satisfied with the photos I had taken?

Carter LOVED the highchair and baby food that Santa had brought for Ashlynn. He did a great job feeding Bitty Baby (aka baby Emily). So cute!

Time to open gifts!

After quick showers and getting dressed, the extended family showed up for more presents. This pretty much lasted until lunch (which was followed by some much needed naps).

We gave Laurie a silly dog nightlight. Kind of looks like Whymsie (her dog), huh?

In the evening we all had dinner at Eric's dad's house.

Merry Christmas!
