Tim & Mimi's Wedding

On June 26th, we attended the wedding of our friends, Tim and Mimi. The wedding ceremony was at the Korean Friendship Bell in San Pedro and Eric was one of the groomsmen. It was the most unique wedding we've ever attended. There was a theme of "Alice in Wonderland" for the ceremony and the reception, held at another place in Long Beach, had the theme of "Futurama" (TV show from the creator of "The Simpsons"). Quite honestly, I would say that more than anything in particular, the wedding was "Stuff Tim and Mimi Like". It was totally them... two funny and quirky people.
(BTW- Carter stayed at home with my parents since he would have missed his nap if he went to the ceremony and since Eric was a part of the wedding party, I didn't want to be double-teamed with an over-tired toddler.)

That is a GIANT bell!

What a view!

Funny girl!

They had some fun appitizers, such as these mini-cheeseburgers, egg rolls, and quiche-like pizzas.

Instead of a guest book, people signed their runner.

Their first dance was choreographed and switched between Michael Jackson and a more traditional first dance song.

The Michael Jackson ending to their first dance.
Here's their wedding cake... or shall I say, wedding cupcakes! It's hard to appreciate from this angle, but the cupcakes looked like pac-man screens.
Instead of tossing her bouquet, Mimi tossed a Slurm can (from Futurama) and the winner got an In-n-Out gift card.
There was a Super Mario Bros. competition between two volunteers for another In-n-Out gift card.
Cutting the cake (shaped like a Slurm can).

Um, so black "frosting" makes for a pretty disgusting smile, as you might imagine.
Nice, Ryan.
Ashlynn was THRILLED to dance with Mimi
She was the cutest thing out on the dance floor!

We finally had to drag Ashlynn off the dance floor... she would have danced all night!
A really fun thing that Tim and Mimi had at the reception was a photo booth. There were a bunch of props and we had fun with them... as you can see.

Grace and Thomas had fun with it too!

It was a fun wedding! Congratulations, Tim and Mimi!

Guess we're both reading blogs this holiday morning :) Love the photo booth pictures. I was telling friends a few days ago that we went to a wedding with one and completely amused ourselves. Great photos as usual!
