Playing a board game with a little kid for the first time makes you realize how many skills are used when playing games. Here are a few we encountered today:
- taking turns,
- turning over just the top card,
- observing the card and realizing what it is telling you to do,
- putting the card down in the right pile,
- making sure you move your piece, not someone else's,
- moving your piece to the right spot and leaving it in that spot, and
- continuing with the game until you reach the finish.
If you ever want an exercise in patience, play a board game with a 3-year-old.

You are brave and patient to try it, my friend. I wouldn't even go close to a game with my almost 3 year old boy.
