After church the past two Sundays we've joined some other young families at the park for lunch. Most of the kids are old enough that the kids can play while the adults talk. It's been great because we've gotten to know a few new people. The kids have had a lot of fun.
Here are a few photos from last week:
Regular work still needed to be completed.
On Monday, Ashlynn woke up extra early to make Earth Day posters. She wanted to post them up around town.
On Wednesday it was Ashlynn's turn to do the science bag activity in her class. Every week a student takes home the science bag that has goggles, a lab coat (well, it was missing this week), a few books of simple science experiments, and a folder of past students' experiments. Ashlynn had a week to pick and prepare for an experiment to demonstrate to the class. She opted to bring in the Snap Circuits set she has to show how an electrical circuit works. Before she did the demonstration in class, she practiced for our family.
On Friday, Eric's Auntie Laurie flew down to celebrate Eric's and Brian's birthdays (it's about halfway between their days). We met for a yummy dinner at Yang Chow in Pasadena. On Saturday morning we had a Panara bagel breakfast at our house.
On Saturday afternoon, Ashlynn and I attended my friend Gretchen's spring tea. It was supposed to be last weekend, but had to be postponed because of the fire.
After the main course of tea sandwiches, scones and salads, there were some pretty desserts to enjoy.
The cake pops someone made were so cute!
Here's this year's group:
When Ashlynn and I got home from the tea, it was time to get ready for the evening's activity with Eric's side of the family: an Anaheim Duck's hockey game. Carter got his face painted by Eric's brother's girlfriend, Ana.
Of course he fell asleep in the car and smudged it, but he couldn't help it!
It was fan appreciation night, so we got posters.
The Ducks scored 3 points.... but the Coyotes scored 5. Oh well!
It was still fun to cheer!
The sad moment of the evening was when Ashlynn dropped her barely eaten hotdog. Bummer.
It was the kids' first hockey game.
On Sunday the kids spent a bunch of time "fishing" for socks with some fishing poles they made from Tinkertoys. I love how nicely they play together and how creative their play is.
And that was our week.

Your kids will have such great memories of all the things you did as a family together. Like the fishing game... Did they come up with that on their own?
